Chamber names Manufacturer of the Year

Megavolt...a company that re-manufactures alternators, starters, and other products for agricultural and construction machinery, was named Manufacturer of the Year by the Springfield Area Chamber oc Commerce. Mike Smith has the story:

The Chamber presents the annual award to shocase the 3.5 billion dollar impact the manufacturing industry has on the local economy, a sector that employs more than 27,000 people.

The other finalists for Manufacturer of the Year, Darr Enterprises, and Watts Radiant, also were recognized for their excecllaance in manufacturing.

Each of the 9 original nominees was evaluated on factors such as business stability and growth; employee development; product development and sustainability; environmental, health, and safety performance; and community development.

Megavolt is a joint venture of Springfield ReManufacturing Corporation and Case New Holland. Case New Holland is also Megavolt's biggest customer.

Led by President Rick Andrulis, Megavolt engages it's employees in all aspects of the business and according to Andrulis, "spends alot of time helping employees become financially literate".

Megavolt is the 10th company since 1995 to be named Manufacturer of the Year by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
