Mercy is moving and expanding its adult and pediatric Urgent Care today.
Hospital officials say the move is being made to "meet increasing demand and provide a higher level of care quickly."
Urgent Care has been located at Mercy's Smith Glynn Callaway building. Today, it will move one block north to Mercy's National building at National and Montclair. Jesse Robinson, Mercy's Urgent Care director, says the larger space will enable them to move patients more quickly through the clinic. And he says there will be dedicated laboratory services, x-rays, CT scanning and ultrasound so they can see more complex cases and make a complete diagnosis.
Urgent Care doctors and providers treat conditions like simple cuts and puncture wounds, minor burns, animal or insect bites, rashes, broken bones, sprains or strains and minor illnesses.
Mercy's Urgent Care hours are from 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week.
