Blood Center Encourages You to Give the Gift of Life this Holiday Season

CBCO

It’s the season of giving, and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is tapping into that by hosting the 21st annual Miracle of Giving Blood Drive.  It kicks off today and goes through January 4th at CBCO blood drives and donor centers across the Ozarks.

According to the blood center, on average, every five minutes a patient at one of 39 area hospitals receives blood that was provided by a CBCO donor.  During the holidays, the need for blood may exceed the supply.

CBCO Executive Director Anthony Roberts says, in less than an hour, you can give someone a chance at another holiday.

Donors during Miracle of Giving will receive a 50 percent bonus on LifePoints, the blood center’s donor rewards program.
