Officials with The Kitchen, Inc. will hold a news conference this morning at 10 to reveal plans to close the Missouri Hotel and work toward ending homelessness.

The Missouri Hotel is a homeless shelter on Commercial Street operated by The Kitchen.

Last week The Kitchen said the plan, "includes transitioning those living at the hotel into other emergency shelter accommodations, as well as permanent housing throughout the community."  It says several support services at The Kitchen Medical Clinic and Rare Breed Youth Outreach will continue.

The facility has been serving homeless individuals since the 1980s.
