'Rolling Flu Clinic' Will Target Glenstone Ave. Businesses
The Springfield Flu Immunization Coalition is organizing a flu clinic that will roll along one of Springfield’s busiest streets…literally. KSMU’s Jennifer Davidson has details.
The so-called “rolling flu clinic” is a mobile clinic that will bring flu shots to hotel and restaurant workers along Glenstone Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 23 and 24.
It’s organized by a partnership between local health organizations. They’ll be driving from business to business by car and in a larger mobile unit from Jordan Valley Health Center.
This “rolling flu clinic” will not be open to the public, but the Flu Coalition is holding public flu shot clinics through mid-November for adults without health insurance. Those flu shots are free.
Children, pregnant women and people in close contact with babies six months or younger can receive flu shots at the Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s Westside Public Health Center.
For more on opportunities to get a flu shot in Greene County, you can call the flu hotline: (417) 875-1228, or visit http://health.springfieldmo.gov/flu for more information.
