Springfield has received four development proposals for the vacant land between the Springfield Exposition Center and the Jordan Valley Car Park. Ksmu's Jana Greer reports.

The deadline has past for proposals for Springfield's 1.7-acre lot on Saint Louis Street. Springfield received four proposals, two are developers from Kansas City, one is from a Branson developer and the other is from Springfield's John Q. Hammons. The proposals range from hotels, to office space, to apartments and condominiums.

Mary Lily Smith is the Director of Economic Development for Springfield. She says the designated commission will choose a proposal by late summer.

The Jordan Valley Park Tax Increment Financing Commission will be voting on the proposals and Smith says she hopes to see construction by next spring.

The development of the land would be privately funded through the chosen company.
