The 24th Annual Senior Art Exhibition will run from March 20 to April 11 at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on the Missouri State University campus. This is a juried, fine arts exhibition organized by the Gerontology Program in the Psychology Department of Missouri State University. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the National Art Shop, Studio 55, a fine arts group for individuals 55 and older, Robert (Butch) Purvis with VALIC Financial Advisors, Inc., and Copy This, a comprehensive quick copy center on the MSU campus. All visual artists, age 60 or older, are invited to submit work for this juried exhibit. Two original entries per person are allowed. All work must be completed within the last three years and must be framed and equipped with hook eyes and wire (prepared for hanging). Contributions can be two- or three-dimensional and crafted of any medium or any combination of media. A $5.00 non-refundable donation is required for each piece entered for the exhibition. These fees will go to the Senior Art Exhibition Fund to help underwrite costs for future exhibitions. Entries must be hand delivered to the Fuldner Lounge at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall between 1:00-3:00 on Monday, March 18, 2019. Three jurors will evaluate the entries. Various National Art Shop gift cards will be awarded for Jurist’s Choice, Best of Show, and the National Art Shop Memorial Award. The exhibition will run Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the fourth and fifth floors of Hammons Hall. The reception for the artists will be on Thursday, March 21 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. For more information on this event, or to request a Call for Entry form, call Dr. Bradley Fisher at 886-2675 or email him at BradleyFisher@missouristate.edu.
