The Traditional Dance and Music Society of the Ozarks holds two community contradances the first and third Saturdays of the month from 7:00 to 10:30pm at the Boys and Girls Club, Henderson Unit at Grant Beach Park, 835 W Calhoun. Everyone is welcome to these community social events. The evening begins with easy dances for newcomers, and all dances are taught. You don't need experience or a partner; bring yourself, a snack to share, and a smile. Arrive just before 7:00 to get signed in and ready for the pre-dance workshop at 7:00 to learn the basics. Please wear soft-soled shoes. For the March 2nd dance there will be live music by Snor-T-Horse: Cathy Barton; Dave Para; Mike Frazier; Tenley Hansen; and caller Gloria Scarlet. On March 16th: Music by the Scraphounds--Barbara Weathers; Jim Ruth; Pete Howard; and caller Mike Bolin. Admission is $7 adults, $5 youth and Traditional Dance and Music Society members.
