The Springfield Regional Arts Council is accepting nominations for the 34th annual Ozzie Awards through Friday, March 15. Winners will be honored at the 10th annual Flights of Fancy, the most celebrated arts gala of the year, next October at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. First awarded in 1985, the Ozzie Awards are given each year to individuals, organizations, and businesses that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the arts in Southwest Missouri. A public call for nominations is announced, and a selection committee chooses those that best support or personify artistic achievement. An ideal Ozzie Award candidate will have exhibited an extended service in promoting the arts, a broad spectrum of involvement in the arts, support above and beyond professional responsibilities, and should be a catalyst for the growth of the arts in the Ozarks. A Legacy Award is traditionally offered posthumously to an individual who has demonstrated the qualities of an Ozzie Award winner in their lifetime. Nominate those you know who have embodied the pioneering, creative spirit of the Southwest Missouri arts scene. Nominations can be made online at https://springfieldarts.org/ozzienominations, by e-mail to Nicole@SpringfieldArts.org, or mail to the SRAC office located in The Creamery Arts Center, 411 North Sherman Parkway, Springfield, MO 65802.
