Remington's Entertainment Complex to Close; Library Book Sale Finds New Home

Remington's

The Friends of the Library Book Sale, held each spring and fall, will continue in a bigger space.  The group had to find a new venue after learning that Remington’s, which is host to a variety of events each year, including the book sales, will close at the end of the year.

Friends of the Library president Jim Moore says the sale will now be held at the Expo Center at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.  That will give them an additional 17,500 square feet of space, he says, which will allow them to move books off the floor, create wider aisles and space around tables and will make the checkout process easier.

The Spring Book Sale is planned for April 26 through May 1st, and will be one day shorter than last year since another event is already scheduled around the same time.

According to its website, Ridgecrest Baptist Church acquired Remington's in 2004. At one time, it was Missouri's largest nightclub. The site says Remington's will cease to function in its current capacity effective December 31. 2015.

It says events remaining on the schedule through the end of 2015 will proceed without interruption.
