The MSU Music Department will host an Opera Workshop tonight (11/11) at 5:30 in the Craig Hall Balcony Theatre.  Opera Theatre singers will perform a selection of scenes by various composers.  

OTC Fine Arts presents “It’s a Wonderful Life:  a Live Radio Play,” tonight and tomorrow night (11/11-11/12) at 7:30 and Sunday (11/13) at 2:30 at the Gillioz Theatre.  Tickets are $10 at the door.

Run to the Lights starts tonight (11/11) at 10 p.m. at Silver Dollar City to raise money for area nonprofit, Caring People, serving single moms and their families.  For details, www.runtothelights.com

Route 66

Artists will put the finishing touches on their Route 66 inspired artwork at 1:30 this afternoon (11/11) at Joplin City Hall, and a celebration of the 90th anniversary of Route 66 starts at 3 at city hall.  To learn more,  click here.

A student composers’ concert starts tonight (11/11) at 7:30 at Wehr Band Hall on the MSU campus.

Rockin’ Road to Dublin’ comes to the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts tomorrow night (11/11) at 7:30.  It’s a fusion of rock and Irish and is described as redefining Irish Dance.  For ticket information, 836-7678.

Fall Fridays with Peter continues tonight (11/11) at 6:30 at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center.  Peter Longley will discuss “First Century Treasures of the Graeco-Roman World.”  Admission is free.

Yard Sale Sign

The community wide fall garage sale will be held tomorrow (11/12) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon.  

Wilson's Creek National Battlefieldwill host an unveiling for three flags that have recently undergone conservation treatment and museum mounting tomorrow morning (11/12) at 10 at the Visitor Center. 

A veterans program, "The American Soldier through History,"  will be presented at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield  tomorrow (11/12) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  There will be formal 30-minute presentations every half hour from 10:30 to 3, and displays on the lawn of the Visitor Center.  For details, click here.
