While some area organizations and businesses are telling Pokemon Go players to stay away, the Springfield-Greene County Library District is welcoming them.
The popular app has people on the search for Pokemon. It uses a smartphone's GPS to detect where and when a player is in the game and has that person "catching" Pokemon characters around them.
According to the library district, the Library Center has two PokeStops with a Gym across the street (if you play Pokemon Go you'll know what that means). The Library Station, Midtown Carnegie and Willard branches are also PokeStops, and the Strafford and Fair Grove branches are PokeStops with Gyms at nearby businesses.
Library district officials say all of their locations offer free WiFi, and trainers can use it to give their smartphones' data a break while they're "hunting" in the branches. They say players are also welcome to bring cables to charge their devices.
