The female country singer and songwriter who makes no apologies for her hot-headed and “bad-girl” lyrics is headed to Springfield. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has details.
Miranda Lambert, the reigning Academy of Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year, will play at the JQH Arena Friday, October 21.
Opening for Lambert will be Justin Moore and The Randy Rogers Band.
According to Country Music Television’s website, Lambert began entering singing contests in her native Texas at age 16. Many of her early hits, like “Kerosine” and “Gunpowder and Lead,” include lyrics of a woman on the receiving end of infidelity or domestic violence getting her revenge. With her latest album, Revolution, Lambert has taken a softer tone, as heard in her single, “The House That Built Me.”
According to a press release from the JQH Arena, tickets go on sale August 26th at 10 a.m. They’ll be available at the JQH Arena Box Office, online at www.MissouriStateTix.com, or by phone at 836-7678.
For KSMU News, I’m Jennifer Moore.
