The Art of Ending Hunger, an annual art benefit auction, is taking place Saturday, April 18th at Patton Alley Pub.KSMU’s Alvin Chen reports.
The art auction will raise money for Ozarks Food Harvest, a local food bank.
Kelly Richard is the spokeswoman for Ozarks Food Harvest.
Ozarks Food Harvest distributes more than 5 million pounds of food annually to about 350 hunger relief organizations throughout the Ozarks. Right now, it’s serving around 53,000 people each month. That’s compared to 41,000 people per month last year.
Richard says given the economic situation this year, there’s an increased need to get more money for feeding people.
Richard also says all the donations from the auction will go directly toward hunger relief.
