After spending 20 years working for Springfield Public Schools, Janice Duncan has taken on a new responsibility. Mike Smith has this report:

Janice Duncan is now the Acting Director of Greenwood Laboratory School, a facility located on the Missouri State University campus that has students from kindergarten through senior high.

Greenwood is part of Missouri State's College of Education. It provides students, faculty and pre-service teachers with real classroom experiences, allowing for experimentation, innovation, and research.

Duncan brings to the school many years of experience as an educator. During her work with the Springfield Public School Syatem, Duncan rose through the administration ranks, eventually serving as Associate Superintendent.

Janice Duncan has been on the job since September 1st and the Missouri State University Board of Governors approved her appointment September 16th.

Duncan replaces Emmit Sawyer who served as Director of Greenwood from 2002-2005.

For KSMU News, I'm Mike Smith.
