The recent Spring Book Sale by Friends of the Springfield-Greene County Library didn’t break a record, but it raised a lot of money for the district’s ten branches.

The six-day used sale brought in $121,309.60.  That’s the fourth highest sales level since the Friends began offering sales of donated materials in 1984.  The record—$124,779.01—was set during the fall 2012 sale.

Proceeds will provide books for preschoolers, author visits and music concerts, special program series and capital improvements.  The Friends have funded the Mobile Library and pledged $300,000 towards the Brentwood Branch renovation.

The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is set for October 21st through 26th.
