Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield wants to maintain the cultural landscape at the park west of Springfield.  So, it’s seeking bids for haying fescue grass in the park.  The special use permit will be good for three years.

The selected bidder will be granted a permit to hay approximately 410 acres of fescue grass between May 1st and October 31st.

Bids will be accepted until close of business on Friday April 18th.

Bids are also being sought from those who want to plant within Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.  The three-year permit would require wheat or oats to be planted this year and next and corn in 2016.

The winning bidder would be able to plant on about 55 acres between April 28th and November 1st.

The permit requires no till planting and approval before using herbicides or pesticides.  Bids must be received by the close of business on April 24th.
