Springfield is gearing up for its 34th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration.

Events get underway tomorrow (3/15) at noon at the Footbridge on Commercial Street with food and vendor booths.  An Irish Pet Contest starts at 12:30, and the parade starts at 2.

Participants will gather at Benton and Commercial starting at noon.  The parade will go west on Commercial, south on Boonville, through Park Central Square and will continue on South Avenue to where it intersects with Elm Street.

An awards ceremony will start around 4:30 at Patton Alley Pub.  This year’s Grand Marshal is Donna “Pokey” Alrutz who has been an active participant in the Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade since its beginning.  For more information, click here.
