A Springfield man was among four soldiers who died two days ago in Afghanistan.  Sgt. Joseph M. Peters, age 24, was assigned to the Fifth Military Police Batallion from Vincenza, Italy.  Peters was a special agent assigned to the 286th Military Police Detachment.  He was killed along with three other soldiers Sunday in the Zhari District when their unit struck an improvised explosive device.  Sgt. Peters is survived by a wife and a 20-month-old son.
