Temperatures today are expected to be in the mid 60s.  That’s why it’s hard to believe that winter precipitation is expected in the Ozarks tomorrow night.  Andy Foster is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Springfield…

"We'll see a cold front go through during the day on Saturday.  We'll have gradually falling temperatures, but those temperatures will fall below freezing as we go into Saturday evening and at the same time we'll have precipitation develop and move across the area, so right now expect a light wintery mix of rain changing over to sleet and snow Saturday evening with light accumulations possible," he said.

He says areas from Branson to Rolla could receive an inch or two of snow accumulation.  He advises motorists to slow down and drive carefully.

Today’s temperatures in the 60s are significantly higher than the average temperature for this time of year—in the low 40s.
