Governor Jay Nixon announced Wednesday the appointments of Carrie Carroll and Lloyd Joseph Carmichael to the Missouri State University Board of Governors.
Carroll, of Jefferson City, is a member of the City Council and owner of Carrie’s Hallmark Shop. She graduated from MSU with a degree in business management. Her term would run until 2015.
Carmichael is the president and law firm manager of Carmichael and Neal, and has practiced law in Springfield for almost 40 years. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University. Carmichael serves on the State Highways and Transportation Commission. His term would run through 2017.
The MSU Board of Governors possesses full power and authority to adopt all needful rules and regulations for the guidance and supervision of the University.
According to Paul Kincaid, MSU President Clif Smart’s Chief of Staff, Both Carroll and Carmichael will replace current members John Winston and Elizabeth Bradbury. Their appointments are subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.
