CBCO Hopes Blood Drive Will Replenish Supplies
The 8th annual Red Tuesday Blood Drive is the largest one-day blood drive CBCO holds. Spokesman Chris Pilgrim says it started with the Springfield Cardinals first season in 2005 and is the most popular blood drive held by the CBCO.
Donors not only walk away feeling good about helping patients in 38 area hospitals, they'll also leave with some free items...
According to Pilgrim, the CBCO is currently in a code yellow alert. There's less than a two-day supply of two different blood types...
Eligible donors must be at least 16--if they're 16 they must have written permission from a parent--weigh at least 110 pounds, must not have given blood in the last 56 days and must feel healthy.
The Red Tuesday Blood Drive is today (7/24) from 7 am to 7 pm at the CBCO's Campbell Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Rd. The Reser Center on S. Glenstone will be closed today. To learn more, www.cbco.org.
