Events are planned today in the Ozarks in observance of Veteran's Day. KSMU's Michele Skalicky has more.
There are several Veterans Day events taking place in Southwest Missouri today. They include the playing of taps in cascading fashion by nearly 80 trumpeters at 10:45 on the Missouri State Campus, a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Branson at 11 and a free USO Show by the Alliance for Veterans at 10:15 in MSU’s Plaster Student Union. West Plains High School will host their annual Veteran’s Day assembly at 9:30 this morning in the school gym, and veterans are invited. Fair Grove High School invites veterans to an assembly at 10 this morning followed by lunch, and Lebanon High School invites veterans to an assembly at 1:45.Drury University will honor veterans with a celebration this afternoon at 4 in the Banquet Hall of the O’Reilly Center. The Scott AFB Band will perform at Branson Landing this morning at 9 and 10:30. And several Springfield schools are holding events today to remember our veterans.
