Clothing and Shoe Bank To Distribute Clothes to Kids

The Springfield Council of Parent Teacher Associations in collaboration with Kiawanis International will distribute free new and gently used clothing and shoes on August 11th and 18th to help families prepare for the new school year. KSMU’s Chasity Mayes has details.

The clothing bank is located behind Bailey Alternative School at 501 West Central Street. It will provide clothing and new socks and underwear for Springfield Public Schools students who qualify for free and reduced lunches. Qualifying students must pick up a voucher from their schools before they pick out their new clothes. Kiawanis International also requires a voucher from the students school to shoe shop and a parent must be present. Donations for the clothing bank will be accepted every Wednesday except for the first Wednesday of the month throughout the school year.
