September 7th marks the 115th annual observance of Labor Day in the United States. From the late 1800's to the mid-20th century, Springfield was considered the strongest labor town in the state of Missouri. Dr. Stephen McIntyre, associate professor of history at Missouri State University, discusses the history of organized labor in Springfield.
