Ozarks New Energy Conference Set for April 30th

The 2009 Ozarks New Energy Conference is happening on April 30th and May 1st at Missouri State University’s Plaster Student Union. The conference will address energy independence for the Ozarks. KSMU's Alvin Chen reports.

Ozarks New Energy, or ONE, is a non-profit organization that began last year.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Solutions for Energy Independence”.

Wendy Anderson is the Director of campus sustainability at Drury University, and also the Treasurer of Ozarks New Energy.

Anderson says last year’s conference was more technical, and this year will focus more on practical, local solutions.

During the conference, several speakers will give speeches on a variety of issues such as Missouri’s energy policy, green and sustainable communities, and how to be more energy-efficient.

You can register for the conference online at before April 27th. Also, you can register at the door on the mornings of April 30th and May 1st.

For KSMU News, I'm Alvin Chen.
