Emmy Award-Winning Journalist To Give Free Lecture on Sustainability

Emmy-award winning broadcast journalist Chris Balish will be the keynote speaker at Ozark Greenway’s annual meeting Thursday night.

Balish was chief national correspondent and co-host of the primetime magazine program “CW Now” and a correspondent for the Discovery Network’s Planet Green cable channel.

Thursday night's meeting is free and open to the public. Balish said he plans to speak about implementing changes that make people’s lives and communities more sustainable.Balish says he has a lot of experience in alternative forms of transportation, and in getting himself around a big city without using a car.

Balish is also author of the book, “How to Live Well Without Owning a Car: Save Money, Breathe Easier and Get More Mileage Out of Life.” The Ozark Greenways Meeting begins at 6:00 Thursday evening in the auditorium of Hammons Heart Institute, which is on the north side of Cherokee, between National and Fremont.
