Bears Basketball Tickets at JQH Arena on Sale to General Public

With the opening only months away for the new $67 million JQH Arena at Missouri State University, the general public now has the opportunity to purchase season tickets for men's and Lady Bears' basketball. KSMU's Brett Moser reports.

Prior to today, Bear's basketball ticket selection was reserved for previous season ticket holders. But now, anyone with "maroon madness" can select from the best available seats of remaining ticket packages.

Padraic McMeel is the director of athletic s development. He says season ticket holders will enjoy the benefits of past seasons as well as some new incentives.

The concert ticket preordering will allow season ticket holders to select the number of seats and price range for a particular event. Similarly, those same ticket holders can use their 10% discount for Bear's clothing and memorabilia at the Team Store, which will be located off the Grand entrance.

In order to qualify for the new benefits, fans must purchase a season ticket package in the $500 per seat price bracket or above.

So have the phones been ringing off the hook at the ticket office? Padraic says things have slowed down after just finishing the initial wave of sales. But he says that doesn't mean fans have all the time in the world to get the best seats.

The men's basketball team will play their first game in the new arena on November 22 against the University of Arkansas. The Lady Bears play the next day against Arkansas State.

And for those fans wanting to purchase single game tickets, Padraic says no official date has been set for the start of those sales.

For KSMU, I'm Brett Moser.
