On Monday morning, the Newton County Sheriff's Department received a call from a frantic woman, claiming that a "black panther" was on its hind legs at her door.
The big cat reportedly charged at the deputy who responded to the call. The deputy shot the animal several times before it died. Chris Jennings, Chief Deputy of Newton County Sherriff's Department, joined KSMU's Jennifer Moore by the phone to discuss the unusual case.
