Council of Churches of the Ozarks Recieves Grant for New Program
The Council of Churches of the Ozarks has been awarded over $41,000 to help abused and neglected children in Greene County. KSMU's Jana Greer has more.
The Council of Churches has received a grant for more than $41,000. The money will be used to plan and sustain a program that will allow people in the community to help support abused and neglected children in the Ozarks. Sondra Uzzell is the Director of Ambassadors for Children, the agency that will be administering the grant. She explains how the program works.
The program will allow members of the community to team up with foster families to help with basic needs such as clothes, eyeglasses and shoes, along with guidance and support.
The Council of Churches of the Ozarks hopes to have the program in place by next January. If you are interested in participating in the program you can contact the organization by using the link at KSMU.org.
