A professor at Missouri State University has a new book coming out. KSMU's Jana Greer has more about this book and the inspiration behind it.

George Connor is the acting head of the Political Science Department at Missouri State University. Six years ago, an old professor of his, Donald Lutz, had a stroke. Connor decided to honor his former professor by teaming up with over 60 people to write and dedicate a book to him.

Donald Lutz's theory says each U.S. state constitution defines that state by defining the people, their way of life and their citizenship. Connor and his colleagues wrote a chapter for each of the states using Donald's theory. Connor says the book is about more than just constitutions.

But Lutz's theories don't have to stop here.

Connor says all the proceeds from this book will go to a special cause.

The book is called "The Constitutionalism of American States" and will be officially released in May.
