Low interest loans are available to residents, businesses and non-profit organizations in 7 counties impacted by the storms that struck January 7th through the 10th. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

Low interest loans are available to residents, businesses and non-profit organizations in 7 counties impacted by the storms that struck January 7th through the 10th. The loans are available to the counties of Greene, Christian, Dallas, Douglas, Laclede, Webster and Wright through the U-S Small Business Administration. The SBA has set up a service center in Webster County that opened its doors for the first time today. Phil Duncan is public information officer for the SBA.

Businesses impacted by the storms can apply for loans to help re-build their facilities. Duncan says they can also apply for loans in cases of "economic injury."

Duncan says residents and business owners should apply for a loan, even if they think they're covered for the damages by insurance.

The deadline to apply for loans for property damage is May 2nd. Businesses that apply for economic injury loans have until December 3rd. The service center that's available to help with loan applications is located at the Webster County 9-1-1 Communications Center—that's in Marshfield at 565 South Prairie Lane.
