Missouri Braces for Winter Snowstorm
Southwest Missouri is bracing for a snowstorm tomorrow which forecasters say could bring up to seven inches of powder to the Ozarks. KSMU's Jennifer Moore has details.
A winter storm watch is in effect beginning tomorrow afternoon lasting through late Thursday night.
Eric Wise, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Springfield, says the snowstorm is the result of a cold front moving in off the Rocky Mountains.
Wise said the snow will begin to fall in the Springfield area around noon Thursday and will get continually heavier as the day goes on. He said to expect up to seven inches of snow in southwest Missouri.
Wise also said south-central Missouri, including the areas around Salem and Rolla, may get even more snow than the Springfield area.
KSMU will certainly keep you updated on potentially hazardous weather conditions and any possible cancellations which might result from this winter storm.
