United Way agencies around the Ozarks will get some free help on Thursday.

KSMU's Matt Petcoff explains what almost 14-hundred volunteers will be doing to lend a hand...

The United Way of the Ozarks is known for helping people.

On Thursday, 14-hundred or so people from 70 local businesses and organizations will help the United Way.

The 14th annual "Day of Caring" will kick off with a pancake breakfast before the volunteers embark on more than 160 jobs for different United Way agencies.

Some of the 24 agencies receiving help include the Child Advocacy Center and the Developmental Center of the Ozarks

Pat Dierking (Derk-ing) is the Chairperson for the Day of Caring Committee.

She says volunteers could be doing a wide range of things to help out.

Each of the 24 United Way agencies submitted a list of projects that they needed help with.

The volunteering businesses were given this list and were able to choose projects that interested them.

Some of the organizations that will be offering their time include Commerce Bank and Chase Financial.
