The Enhancing Children's Healthy Opportunities project, also known as Echo, is celebrating its one year anniversary of service. The project is through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and offers healthcare opportunities to children. Ksmu's Jana Greer reports.
The ECHO project is a collaborative effort to promote childhood health and address red flag issues facing children in Springfield. The issues were identified in the 2005 community focus report.
Steve Seal is the Project Coordinator for ECHO. He says the project has been very successful over its first year.
The project activities range from increasing awareness of health, parenting classes and increasing the amount of time counselors have to work with children at school. Seal says the project is important for children.
The ECHO Project will be celebrating its anniversary tomorrow night at the White River Room at Bass Pro Shops.
