Greene County Prosecutor Darrell Moore is calling on voters to vote against keeping State Supreme Court Judge Richard Teitelman on the bench. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

AT A PRESS CONFERENCE THURSDAY AFTERNOON, MOORE SAID TEITELMAN IS PART OF AN ANTI-DEATH PENALTY MAJORITY ON THE STATE'S HIGH COURT.

TEILTELMAN WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR COMMENT THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

MOORE SAYS THE SUPREME COURT IS FAILING TO SET EXECUTION DATES IN A TIMELY FASHION.

MOORE SAYS THE COURT'S RELUCTANCE TO SET EXECUTION DATES IS VICTIMIZING FAMILIES A SECOND TIME.

GREENE COUNTY PROSECUTOR DARRELL MOORE BROUGHT THIS ISSUE TO THE ATTENTION OF STATE REPRESENTATIVE MARK WRIGHT, A REPUBLICAN FROM SPRINGFIELD WHO IS SEEKING RE-ELECTION.

WRIGHT SAYS NOW THAT HE KNOWS ABOUT THE APPARENT DELAYS, HE'S GOING TO FILE LEGISLATION TO REQUIRE THE COURT TO SET EXECUTION DATES IN A TIMELY MANNER ONCE ALL APPEALS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED.

A SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE SUPREME COURT WAS UNAVAILABLE THURSDAY THOUGH THE SUPREME COURT WEBSITE SHOWS ON SEPTEMBER 28TH, THE COURT SET AN EXECUTION DATE FOR RICHARD STRONG.

HE'S SCHEDULED TO DIE BY LETHAL INJECTION ON JANUARY 7TH.
