Stopping Meth Production
Missouri is second only to California when it comes to methampetamine production. Meth is a drug made from a mixture of various chemicals to form a compound that is both damaging to the body and to the environment. Some people say government should devote more money to fighting meth. Missouri Candidates Discuss Civil Liberties
The national debate about the use of the death penalty is already becoming politicized.  Illinois’ governor George Ryan called for a moratorium in his state earlier this year after DNA evidence exonerated a number of death row inmates.  That move caused lawmakers and voters to re-evaluate the use of capitol punishment.  It’s an issue the leading gubernatorial candidates in Missouri already are discussing.  Listen to their positions on this issue and other topics related to civil liberties as KSMU’s Missy Shelton talks with Jim Talent and Bob Holden.  You’ll also hear from the leading candidates for U.S. Senate John Ashcroft and Mel Carnahan on civil liberties.
