Harvest Fest at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Rd. 146 in Springfield, kicks off Friday night (9/28) at 6:30 and continue weekends through October 28.  The event features a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, carnival games and a haunted trail (beginning October 5). 

The fifth annual Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest and its partner agencies will be held Friday (9/28) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Panera Bread on S. Campbell.  The public is invited to stop by and make a donation to receive a handcrafted bowl and a meal of soup and bread from Panera.  Each bowl will have a suggested donation price.  A silent auction will also be held. 

Bikes, Blues and BBQ continues through Saturday (9/30) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  The event benefits charities in northwest Arkansas. 

The 2018 Four States Open Disc Golf Tournament is Friday through Sunday (9/28-9/30) in Joplin, Carl Junction and Neosho.

The 2018 Sertoma Oktoberfest will be held Friday night (9/28) from 5 to 10 and Saturday (9/29) from noon to 11 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 535 E. St. Louis in Springfield.  The event will include live music, a Family Night, Bike for Kids, Alpine Good Will Games, a brat eating contest, wiener dog races and more. 

The 2018 Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Show continues Friday (9/28) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday (9/29) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant in Springfield.   

Springfield Little Theatre presents Disney’s Newsies through October 7 at the Landers Theatre. 

The Stockton Black Walnut Fest is Friday through Sunday (9/28-9/30) at Stockton City Park.  The event includes the Nut Run Saturday morning at 8, live music, crafts, carnival rides, food and more.   

Ozark Mountain Webfest is Friday through Sunday (9/28-9/30) at the Branson Events Center, 4230 N. Gretna Rd. in Branson. 

The Night of Caring to benefit the Doula Foundation is Friday night (9/28) from 6:30 to 9 at Farmers Park, 2144 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield. 

The Tri-State Gem and Mineral Society Rock-A-Thon is Friday and Saturday (9/28-9/29) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday (9/30) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joplin History and Mineral Museum, 504 S. Schifferdecker in Joplin.  

The Guilty by Association Truck Show will be held Friday and Saturday (9/28-9/29) in Joplin featuring a truck and tractor pull, BBQ, fireworks show, party in downtown Joplin and more. 

The ninth annual Springfield Jazz Festival is Saturday (9/29) starting at noon and featuring seven hours of live jazz on Park Central East and Park Central Square.

Women and girls of all ages are invited to Women’s Fishing Day Saturday (9/29) at Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon.  The event, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. is free, and a limited amount of equipment will be available.  Women are encouraged to take their own fishing gear.  How-to seminars will be offered from 11 to 2.  For details, (417) 532-4418.

The Springfield Art Museum will host the annual 99 Times Party Saturday night (9/29) at the museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr.  Sixteen local stylists and artists will transform the Museum into a fantastical fairground of interactive art installations inspired by classic American circus acts and attractions to raise funds to restore works in the Museum's collection by Strafford, Missouri native and important Regionalist painter, Ben Messick. 

The Fair Grove Heritage Reunion will be held Saturday and Sunday (9/29-9/30) in downtown Fair Grove.  The event features a parade, arts and crafts, food, tours of the historic Wommack Mill, live music and more. 

The Discovery Center of Springfield will host Night at the Museum Saturday night (9/29) at 6 for adults.  The evening will include drinks, food and hands-on science. 

The Junior League of Springfield’s Fall Home Tour is Saturday (9/29) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.   The self-guided tour will feature six Springfield homes with chef demonstrations, cocktail creations and live music at each home. 

The Moxie Cinema’s On Stage Series will feature the film, “Julie,” Saturday (9/29) at 1 p.m.  “Julie” was filmed live September 6, 2018 at the National Theatre. The Moxie is located at 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield. 

The program, “Archery: For Families,” will be held Saturday (9/29) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  To register, (417) 888-4237.

The 2018 Manhattan Short Film Festivalis Saturday night (9/29) at 7 in the Plaster Student Union Theater.  Springfield film-lovers will have a chance to unite with audiences around the world to choose their favorite short film.  Doors open at 6:30. 

The Hispanic Heritage Day Celebration is Saturday (9/29) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond.  Artists, performers and storytellers representing various Hispanic countries and backgrounds will share their culture with the public. 

The B.A.R.K. Ranger Program starts Saturday morning (9/29) at 9 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond.  The event begins with a dog walk with a park ranger and local veterinarian.  At the end of the walk, dogs will take the B.A.R.K. Ranger Pledge and be sworn in as official B.A.R.K. Rangers. 

Ozark High School, 1350 W. Bluff Dr. in Ozark, will host the fifth annual Pride of the Ozarks Marching Band Competition Saturday (9/29) beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Tiger Stadium.  Tickets will be available at the box office.  

Prairie State Park, 128 NW 150th Lane in Mindenmines, MO, will be host Prairie Jubilee Saturday (9/29) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A living history loop will feature interpreters talking about what it was like to live on the prairie.  Take a ride to see bison and enjoy bison for lunch. 

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center will offer a naturalist-guided hike to the Henning Conservation Area in Branson Saturday (9/29).  The hike is four miles and rated moderate to difficult.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

The Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center, 483 Hatchery Rd. in Branson, will present the display, “Invasive Species,” Saturday morning (9/29) from 10 a.m. to noon.  Learn what plants and animals are causing problems in the state and how you can help. 

The Phillipsburg Fall Festival will be held Saturday (9/29) at Phillipsburg Village Park in Phillipsburg with antique cars and machinery, c rafts, food and more. 

The Route 66 Record Show is Sunday (9/30) at Relics Event Center, 2015 W. Battlefield in Springfield.  Doors open at 9 a.m. for early admission.  General admission is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Early admission is $10 and general admission is $5.
