MSU Chinese students and the Scholars Association will celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Friday (9/21) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Phelps Grove Park.  The event will include games, shows and Chinese food, including moon cakes.  Tickets are required for entry and are $10.

The Missouri State University Volleyball Bears will host Illinois State Friday afternoon (9/21) at 3 and Bradley Saturday night (9/22) at 7 at Hammons Student Center.  For ticket information, (417) 836-7678 or missouristatetix.com.

The Missouri State University softball team will host Crowder College Saturday (9/22) at noon and Central Arkansas at 4:30 p.m. and Jefferson College Sunday afternoon (9/23) at 1 and Avila University Sunday night at 5:30 at Killian Sports Complex.  Learn more here

Marionville will host Apple Fest Friday and Saturday (9/21-9/22) with a parade Saturday morning at 10.

The Developmental Center of the Ozarks will host the 15th annual Wine and Whiskey Walk Friday night (9/21) at 7 at Farmers Park, 2144 E. Republic Rd. 

The Christian County Library will host the Great American Read Film Festival Friday night (9/21) at 6 with a showing of the film, “Apocalypse Now.”  The screening will be held at the Ozark branch, 1005 N. 4th Ave. 

University of Missouri Extension will host a Garlic Workshop Friday night (9/21) from 5 to 8 at the Springfield Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield.  Learn to grow garlic for profit.  The cost to attend is $15, and registration is required. 

The Springfield-Greene County Library will host a Great American Read Trivia Night Friday night (9/21) at 7 at Missouri Spirits, 507 W. Walnut in Springfield.  Recruit and register a team to compete. 

CASA of Southwest Missouri will host CASAblanca! Friday night (9/21) at 5:30 at the Old Glass Place in downtown Springfield with live music by Shaun Munday. 

The Crime Stoppers Trivia Night Fundraiser will be held Friday night (9/21) at 5:30 at Central Christian Church, 1475 N. Washington in Springfield.  http://www.cpozarks.org/event/cstrivianight/

2018 Fiber Daze in Southwest Missouri is Friday and Saturday (9/21-9/22) at the Marc Center, 822 W. Mt. Vernon in Mt. Vernon.   The event will feature classes in a variety of fiber arts, vendor booths and more. 

The Springfield-Greene County Library will host a Walking Tour in Midtown Springfield Saturday morning (9/22) at 10.  Staff from the History Museum on the Square will lead walkers on a route with seven stops.  Registration required. 

Fall on the Frisco will be held Saturday (9/22) from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Willard.  The event will include a parade, crafts, music, a petting zoo, kids’ activities and more. 

A Native Plant and Garden Seminar will be held Saturday (9/22) from 9 to noon at the Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin.  Learn how to add native plants to your yard that will be valuable habitat for wildlife. 

The Ozarks Model Railroad Association will host their annual Fall Train Show Saturday (9/22) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis. 

The Springfield St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer will start Saturday morning (9/22) at 8 at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park. 

Boats and Bones will be held Saturday and Sunday (9/22-9/23) at the Port of Kimberling, 201 Marina Way in Kimberling City.  The barbecue competition will offer demonstrations, pirate story time, beer, bbq sampling, kids’ activities, and more. 

The Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival is Saturday (9/22) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Center Creek Park in Carl Junction. 

The Latinx Heritage Month Banquet is Saturday night (9/22) at 5 at Missouri State University’s Plaster Student Union.  The event includes cultural performances, a fashion show and authentic Latin American food.  RSVPs are required. 

The program, Yoga in Nature for Adults, will be held Saturday morning (9/22) at 9:30 at Wildcat Park in Joplin.  Take a yoga mat, towel and water bottle. 

Artillery demonstrations will be held at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Saturday (9/22) hourly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tour Road Stop 5. 

A garage sale, benefiting Eden Animal Haven, will be held Saturday (9/22) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 927 S. Cavalier Dr. in Springfield. 

The Fraternal Order of Eagles will host 2018 Fall Junkapalooza Saturday (9/22), at 18896 Lawrence 2185 in Aurora.

The MSU Symphony will present a concert Sunday night (9/23) at 5:30 at the Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. 

Kids can learn about the U.S. Constitution during Constitution Day with the DAR Saturday (9/22) from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Christian County Library Nixa branch.  DAR members will be in Revolutionary War period costumes. 

The Andy Dalton Shooting Range in Ash Grove will celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day by offering one free hour of shooting Saturday (9/22).   Learn more here

Kids 12 to 17-years-old are invited to join the Springfield Conservation Nature Center’s Conservation TEENS as they learn to fly-fish Saturday (9/22).  The event will be held at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center in Ash Grove.  Registration required.  Learn more here

The 16th annual Dog Fest is Saturday (9/22) from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Chesterfield Park in Springfield.  It will feature dog agility demonstrations, expert seminars, local celebrities, police K-9s, therapy dogs, a dog fashion show, canine-related vendors and non-profits and a dog-themed bounce house for kids. 

Reptile Day will be held Saturday (9/22) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Fairbanks, 1126 N. Broadway in Springfield.
