Aplant sale, hosted by the Darr College of Agriculture at Missouri State University, continues Friday (5/4) until 5 p.m. in the Karls Hall Greenhouse on the main campus. 

First Friday Art Walk is Friday night (5/4) from 6 to 10 at various venues in downtown Springfield. 

The Mystery Hour will be at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield, Friday night (5/4) at 7:30. 

Students from Phelps Center for Gifted Education will host The Art of Printmaking Exhibit Friday night (5/4) from 6 to 9 at the Creamery Arts Center, 411 N. Sherman Parkway, in downtown Springfield. 

A new exhibit, Ozark Images by Lonnie Bolding, opens Friday night (5/4) at 6 at the Park Central Branch Library on Park Central Square in Springfield.  Kaitlyn McConnell, founder of Ozarks Alive, will talk about the unexpected and often downright weird tales that define the city’s past.  Click here for more information.

A Percussion Ensembles Concert will start Friday night (5/4) at 7:30 in Ellis Recital Hall on the Missouri State University campus. 

The Battle of the Badges, a charity basketball game between the  Springfield Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, will be held Friday night (5/4) at 7 at Carver Middle School, 3372 W. Battlefield in Springfield.  Proceeds benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Ozarks. 

Family Movie Night at the Library starts Friday night (5/4) at 6:30 at the Library Center.  It will feature the movie, LEGO Star Wars:  The Yoda Chronicles. 

Frolic of the Mind: The Illustrious Life of Rose O’Neill is at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr., through August 5. 

Springfield Little Theatre presentsHow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying through May 20 at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut in Springfield. 

The MSU Spring Dance Concert, Parts of a Whole, continues through Sunday (5/6) in Craig Hall's Coger Theatre.  Showtimes are Friday night and Saturday night (5/4-5/5) at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday (5/6) at 2:30. 

Northark Drama and the Ozark Arts Council presents Charlotte’s WebFriday morning (5/4) at 10 and Saturday and Sunday (5/5-5/6) at 2 p.m. at the Historic Lyric Theater, 115 W. Rush in Harrison, Arkansas. 

Arts Fest will be heldSaturday (5/5) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (5/6) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Historic Walnut Street in Springfield with 140 artists, a variety of live performances, food, kids’ activities and more. 

Woofstock 2018 is Saturday (5/5) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the empty field next to the Springfield Expo Center in downtown Springfield.  The pet adoption event will feature an adoptable pet parade, live music, dog contests and a silent auction. 

The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta! will be held Saturday night (5/5) from 5 to 9 at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr.  The event will include live music, folkloric Mexican dances, cultural activities, Mexican food and crafts and more. 

The Arts in the Park Concert Seriesat Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield kicks off Saturday night (5/5) at 7 with the College of the Ozarks Concert Band.  Take a blanket or lawn chair.  Admission is free. 

Saturday (5/5) is Cultural Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Discovery Center of Springfield,   Travel to Mexico using virtual reality goggles to learn about Mexican-American culture and Mexican history.  Regular admission applies. 

Friends of the Garden will host a Native Plant Sale and Iris Show Saturday (5/5) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield. 

Bennett Springs Fish Hatchery at Bennett Spring State Park will host Kids Fun Fishing Day Saturday (5/5) from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.  Volunteers will be on hand to help kids learn to fish.  A limited supply of fishing equipment will be available or you can take your own. 

The Missouri Humanities Council and Springfield-Greene County Libraries will offer Veterans’ Writing Workshops for veterans and their families Saturdays through June 2.  The first workshop is May 5 at 9 a.m. at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library. 

The Queen City Beard and Moustache Foundation’s ninth annual Beard & Moustache Competition will be held Saturday (5/5)  starting at 2 p.m. at 319 Event Center, 319 W. Walnut in downtown Springfield.

The Mutt March 5K Walk/Run will be held Saturday (5/5) at 8 a.m. on Trafficway near the Springfield Expo Center and Jordan Valley Park.  Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of SWMO.

The Girls on the Run Spring 5K will be held Saturday (5/5) starting at Plaster Student Union on the Missouri State University campus.  Packet pickup and registration starts at 8:30 a.m.  

Citizens Memorial Hospice in Bolivar will host the Heroes for Hospice 10K and 5K Run Saturday (5/5). 

The Artrageous Cinco de Mayo Fun Crawl starts at 1 Saturday (5/5) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  Proceeds benefit Main Street Eureka Springs. 

Kick off the May Festival of the Arts with the Artrageous Parade Saturday (5/5) at 2 in downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

The Freedom of Flight Museum Run on the Runway 5K and Duathlon will be held Saturday (5/5) at the Joplin Regional Airport, 5509 Dennis Weaver Dr. in Webb City.  The event also includes a One Mile Fun Run for anyone 12 and younger. 

First State Community Bank employees will host a garage sale Saturday (5/5) starting at 7 a.m. at the Mills Center, 650 Mills Dr. in Lebanon. 

The program, African American Trailblazers, will be held Saturday and Sunday (5/5-5/6) at 1 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, Missouri.  Learn about notable African Americans in history as well as modern day trailblazers.

Saturday (5/5) is Salamander Saturday at Dickerson Park Zoo, 1401 W. Norton Rd. in Springfield.  Members of the AAZK Ozarks Chapter will talk about salamanders, their habitats and their role in the ecosystem.  For more information, 864-1800. 

The Lebanon Farmer’s Market will be open Saturday (5/5) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Lebanon, off Jefferson by the railroad tracks.  

The C-Street City Market will be open Saturday (5/5) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Footbridge on Commercial Street. 

The Greater Ozarks Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday  (5/5) in the southeast corner of the Battlefield Mall Parking Lot. 

Farmers’ Market of the Ozarks will be open Saturday (5/5) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2144 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield. 

The program, Discover the History of Doling Park, will be held Sunday (5/6) at 2 at the Library Station for adults.  Gail Mitchell, author of the book, History of Doling Park 1850-2013, will share the park’s history. 

The Springfield-Drury Girls Choir will present a concert Sunday afternoon (5/6) at 3 in Stone Chapel. 

The Primitive Skills Series at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center continues Sunday (5/6) with a Flint Knapping Demonstration from 1 to 3.  No registration is required, and you may stop by anytime.
