Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon will present “Ozark Astronomy” Friday night (7/27) at 8:45.  A telescope will be set up, and you can view a variety of constellations and planets. 

The Branson Fly Fishing Expo is Friday (7/27) from 9 a.m. to 5 and Saturday (7/28) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lions Community Building, 1015 E. State Highway 76 in Branson.  Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family.  The event will feature fly casting and tying demos, raffles and silent auctions and local exhibitors. 

The 82nd annual Ozark Empire Fair continues through August 4 at 3001 N. Grant in Springfield. 

The Little Acorns program, “Calling All Cicadas,” will be held Friday (7/27) at 10 and 11:15 a.m. and Saturday (7/28) at 10 a.m. at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center for children three to six-years-old.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

“Rare Wine, Rare Books” is Friday night (7/27) at 7 at Meyer Library.  The evening will include dinner paired with six flights of wine.  Proceeds benefit the Fraley Family Rare Books Endowment. 

Yoga on the Square is at 12:10 Friday afternoon (7/27) on Park Central Square.  Take a yoga mat and water.  Admission is free. 

Springfield Contemporary Theatre, 431 S. Jefferson in downtown Springfield, presents “The Elephant Man”through August 5. 

Movies at Founders Park continues this weekend at Founders Park, 330 E. Water in downtown Springfield.  See “Coco” Friday night (7/27) and “Star Wars:  The Last Jedi” Saturday night (7/28) at dusk.  Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase.  Take blankets or lawn chairs. 

“Frolic of the Mind: The Illustrious Life of Rose O’Neill” is on exhibit at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive, through August 5. 

The exhibit, “Birthplace of Route 66, Memories of the Mother Road,” is currently on display at the History Museum on the Square on Park Central Square in Springfield. 

The first annual Vintage Legends Motorcycle Show will be held Saturday (7/28) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

The Springfield Lasers World Tennis Team will take on Texas Saturday night (7/28) at 7 at Cooper Tennis Complex.  For ticket information,

Dancing in the Park is Saturday (7/28) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Basin Spring Park in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  The Melon Light Dancers will perform and teach the audience a step or two.  Admission is free.

Learn about plants you should avoid at the discovery table, “Outdoor Hazards: Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac,”Saturday (7/28) from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center, 483 Hatchery Rd. in Branson.

The program,“Home Maintenance from a Home Inspector,” starts Saturday morning (7/28) at 10 at the Christian County Library, 208 McCroskey in Nixa.  Learn how to extend the life of various parts of your home.  Pre-registration is requested. 

Anyone 13 and older can watch the movie, “Justice League,” rated PG-13, Saturday night (7/28) at 6:30 at the Library Station. 

“Hoots, Hollers, Songs and Signs” will be held Saturday night (7/28) at 8:30 at Echo Bluff State Park, 35244 Echo Bluff Drive in Eminence.  Rick Mansfield and friends will sing songs and tell stories of the Ozarks. 

The Springfield Elks Charity Car, Truck and Bike Show will be held Saturday (7/28) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2223 E. Bennett in Springfield. 

Adults are invited to the program, “Homemade Sodas and other Concoctions,” Saturday (7/28) at noon at the Christian County Library Nixa branch, 208 McCroskey in Nixa. 

Go on a guided 2.5-mile guided hike at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon Saturday (7/28).  The Savanna Trail Hike will start at 10 a.m. 

Dickerson Park Zoowill host “Show Your Stripes for World Tiger Day” Sunday (7/29).  Anyone who wears stripes will receive $2 off general admission. 

The program,“Summer Hummers,” starts at 5 p.m. Sunday (7/29) at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Learn about hummingbirds and watch as Sarah Driver attempts to capture some and band them.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

The“Ride with a Ranger Bike Ride” will start Sunday afternoon (7/29) at 2 at Roaring River State Park, 12716 Farm Rd. 2239 in Cassville.  A law enforcement ranger will teach the ABC’s of bike riding.
