Culture Night will be held tonight (2/16) from 6 to 8 at the Jim D. Morris Center, 301 S. Jefferson in Springfield.  Learn about various cultures represented at Missouri State University and the English Language Institute. 

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center will host an Owl Prowl tonight (2/16) from 7 to 8:30.  Dickerson Park Zoo will provide an up close look at live owls, and then you’ll go out on the nature center trails to try to call some wild ones.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

Country singer, Luke Bryan, will be in concert at JQH Arena tonight (2/16).  The concert starts at 7.  For ticket information, click here.

Retro Games Afternoons will be held today (2/16) from 3:30 to 5 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library for grades six to 12.  Play games your parents loved, such as Sorry, Battleship, Scrabble and Clue. 

The Missouri State Ice Hockey Bears will face McKendree University this weekend at Mediacom Ice Park. 

Moxie Flix, a series focusing on essential films for kids to see before they turn 13, will feature Watership Down this afternoon (2/16) at 4:30 and tomorrow morning (2/17) at 10 at theMoxie, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield. 

The fifth annual Lake Life Expo will be at the Springfield Expo Center today (2/16) from 1 to 8, tomorrow (2/17) from 10 to 8 and Sunday (2/18) from 10 to 4. 

Springfield Little Theatre presents Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding at The Old Glass Place through February 24. 

Seuss Science Day is tomorrow (2/17) from 10 to 4 at the Discovery Center of Springfield, 438 E. St. Louis.  Meet the Cat in the Hat, watch science demonstrations and listen to Dr. Seuss stories.  For ticket information, optv.org.

Discover Engineering Day will be held tomorrow (2/17) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MSU Plaster Center for Free Enterprise.  There will be activities and demonstrations that illustrate different aspects of engineering.  Admission is free.

An African American Read In event, featuring “The Wide Circumference of Love” by Marita Golden will start tomorrow morning (2/17) at 10 for adults.  It’s at the Republic Branch Library, 921 N. Lindsey Ave. in Republic. 

The Chinese New Year Banquet and Show will start tomorrow night (2/17) at 5:30 at the MSU Plaster Student Union Ballroom.  Admission is $15. 

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Resource Fairwill be held tomorrow (2/17) from 1 to 4 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.  Learn about community services available for grandparent families.  Kids can make a craft, and families can have a photo taken. 

The Springfield Symphony will present William Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony tomorrow night (2/17) at 7 at the Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.  Also during the concert, Todd Payne will sing spirituals and present his interpretation of Martin Luther King Jr.’s I have a Dream speech. 

The Drury Women’s Auxiliary Scholarship Auction and Dinner will be held tomorrow (2/17) at 5 p.m. in the Findlay Student Center Ballroom. 

Darci Lynne & Friends Live comes to the Gillioz Theatre tomorrow night (2/17) at 7.   The 13-year-old ventriloquist and singer won Season 12 of America’s Got Talent. 

The Little Acorns program, Greet the Groundhog, for ages three to six, will be held tomorrow morning (2/17) at 11 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

This weekend, a park ranger will discuss George Washington Carver’s rise to fame and his efforts for interracial understanding after his 1921 appearance before the House Ways and Means Committee.  That program starts tomorrow and Sunday (2/17 & 2/18) at 1 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond.

Springfield Little Theatre will present A Frozen Frenzy: Our Winter Princess Event tomorrow (2/17) from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut.  The event will feature photo opportunities with princesses, photo opportunities, icy treats and more.   

The Drury on C-Street Gallery, 233 E. Commercial in Springfield, will host a fashion show in conjunction with the art exhibit, Do You See Who I See, on display through February 25.  The fashion show will start tomorrow afternoon (2/17) at 1 and feature clothing from four local stores.   

The Time Travelers Club at the Library Station will learn about the Underground Railroad while playing games, making crafts and enjoying snacks.  The program, for kids in first through fourth grades will start tomorrow (2/17) at 2.

Bookcycling Art, for grades six to 12, will start Sunday afternoon (2/18) at 2 at the Park Central Branch Library.  Repurpose old books into mobiles, shadowboxes and more. 

The series, Essential French New Wave Cinema, which features films everyone should see on the big screen, will feature the 1962 film, Cleo from 5 to 7, Sunday afternoon (2/18) at 3 at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield. 

The Ozark Festival Orchestrawill present a concert Sunday (2/18) at 3 at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center.
