The Springfield Police Department, with help from the Greene County Sheriff's Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other members of the Central Ozarks Regional DWI Task Force, conducted a sobriety checkpoint Friday night on Glenstone at Catalpa.  A total of 724 motorists was contacted during the three and a half hours the checkpoint was in operation.

Seven drivers were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, one was arrested for a warrant and three were arrested for drug-related offenses.

The checkpoint was funded through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Safety.
