Nixa Utilities has stepped up to help federal workers who currently aren’t getting paid during the partial federal government shutdown.
The organization recently announced a bill payment deferment program. Federal employees can visit the Nixa Utilities Billing Office and show either a recent pay stub, federal government employee ID or a letter from their employer to qualify.
Those who sign up won’t have to pay their utility bills until 30 days after the end of the government shutdown. According to Nixa Utilities, the program is aimed at preventing federal government employees from getting their utilities turned off due to lack of payment.
