Highway 65 between I-44 and Kearney has reopened, but the southbound stretch between Valley Water Mill Rd. and I-44 is closed, and there is no access to I-44 from southbound 65.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the closure will last until 10 p.m. Sunday, August 19.  Crews are working on pavement reconstruction.

The detour is westbound Greene County Route AA to southbound Glenstone Ave. to I-44 to southbound Route 65.

The Route 65 project, which began July 14 and is expected to last until late August, includes replacing the southbound 65 bridge over 1-44, ramp and pavement rebuilding and upgrading guardrails.  The total project cost is $4.3 million.
