With two of its athletes facing felony charges and three other athletes under investigation for theft, Missouri State University President Michael Nietzel has set up a special panel to evaluate the university's handling of these situations and the standards of behavior for athletes. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

University President Michael Nietzel says he anticipates the 10-member panel will provide some useful information.

The panel consists of university and community members. Nietzel says he thought careful about the people he wanted to serve on the panel.

Nietzel says the recent legal problems of several athletes have impacted the university.

Nietzel has asked the panel to submit a report to him no later than March first. We've got a link to the panel members and the president's memo to them at our website, KSMU dot org.
