There’s rain in the forecast for today, along with the possibility of some thunderstorms. KSMU’s Missy Shelton reports.

The Ozarks will see warm temperatures today and tomorrow but along with those higher temperatures, we’ll have a couple of storm systems moving through the area. Steve Lindenberg is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Springfield.

“We have a strong storm system that’s out in Kansas right now. It’s going to track to the northwest of the area. However, energy from that system is going to push through the Missouri Ozarks during the day. As we become more unstable during the late morning, through the afternoon, we could see storms re-develop. There probably won’t be any kind of outbreak but there is an isolated threat for a tornado. That’s really the main threat. There’s pretty good wind shear out there with this system. If we can get enough instability, there is a threat of an isolated tornado.”

There’s also a chance for another round of strong storms Wednesday evening. Tomorrow, during the day, temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 70’s.
