  • A dance is held each Friday night at the West Plains Senior Center. All ages are welcome. Admission is $4.
  • AMVETS Riders Chapter 98 in West Plains will hold an Awards Banquet and Dinner Dance tomorrow night (1/23) at 6. For details, 417-372-0018.
  • Learn how to create a job-winning resume this morning (1/22) at 10 at the Brentwood Branch Library. Then, from noon to 5 learn or update software skills, write a resume and learn to find job opportunities online. For details or to register, 883-1974.

  • The MO State University Jazz Showcase, featuring the Russell Malone Quartet, is tonight (1/22) at 8 at the Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. For tickets, 836-7678.
  • The Discovery Center will hold a garage sale tomorrow (1/23) from 7 to 3. You can drop off items for the sale—no clothing needed—today (1/22) from 9 to 5. For more information, 862-9910.
  • Get computer help tomorrow morning at 11:30 from members of the ICON Computer Users’ Group at the Library Center.
  • Eagle Days is tomorrow (1/23) from 9 to 4 and Sunday (1/24) from 11 to 4 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. Dickerson Park Zoo will present a program every hour on the hour indoors featuring a live bald eagle. There will be outdoor viewing opportunities both days at the Lake Springfield Boathouse and Marina. For details, 888-4237.

  • The Scottish Saint Andrew’s Society of Springfield’s annual Robert Burns Supper is tomorrow night (1/23) at the Doubletree Hotel. There will be traditional Scottish food, music, dancing, bagpipes, kilts and more. For ticket information, 890-5653.
