Remington's and World Vision are working together to bring awareness to a worldwide problem, KSMU's Chasity Mayes reports.
Listen in This report was produced November 17, 2009. Springfield, Missouri is far from the impoverished villages of Africa, but for the next 6 days World Vision, in collaboration with Remington’s, is giving people the opportunity to get up close and personal with the devastation caused by AIDS in that part of the world. The World Vision Experience: Aids is a 3,000 square foot exhibit created to take visitors to the not-so-pleasant reality of life in an African village. The self guided tour’s captivating audio and photography allow participants to see things through the eyes of an African child and emphasize the effects of Aids, a problem that leaves many African children without parents. Ange St. Hilaire, Tour Communications Manager for the event says that it’s important to bring awareness to every community because Aids is a worldwide problem. Remington’s will be hosting the event through November 22nd starting at 10:00 am and ending at 8:00 pm each evening. The tour is free, but it is recommended that those interested reserve tickets in advance. For more information you can visit www.worldvisionexperience.org. For KSMU News, I'm Chasity Mayes.
