Listen in Missouri State University President Dr. Michael Nietzel announced Monday that he will step down as president. In a statement released by the university, Nietzel said his reasons for stepping down were due to a combination of personal and professional concerns. He says he will be willing to remain in his position until the end of 2010 to allow the university to conduct a thorough search for his replacement. Nietzel said in the statement he does not have definite plans for after his d His contract entitles him to one semester of sabbatical at full pay or one year of sabbatical at half-pay.
